Powders for Hot Isostatic Pressing (HIP)

Hot Isostatic Pressing is a sintering process in which isostatic gas pressure is applied on the compacted powder body while heating. HIP technique converts loose powder into a completely dense part with properties superior to those achieved by traditional casting, forging and sintering processes. HIP permits the use of composite materials and has the capability to produce large, complex shaped components. Furthermore, heat and pressure applied simultaneously during HIP process eliminates internal voids and residual porosity. This results in homogeneous fine-grained microstructure in the final product which in turn improves mechanical properties of the fabricated parts.

Levigate Alloys is capable of producing high quality inert gas atomized powders used in the manufacture of components using HIP process. The powders are produced from high quality raw materials in our modern manufacturing facility. Salient features of Levigate powders are consistent spherical shape, satellite free powder particles, low oxygen content, uniform powder flow and consistency between batches.
